Cherie Gendron

House Dance

Cherie “Breezie” Gendron, originally from Atlanta, GA, is a practitioner of both Hip Hop and House culture. She aims to honor the origins of Hip Hop and House dance as freestyle and cypher based dance forms. She received her BA in dance from UCLA in 2019 and is a current MFA student in dance at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Cherie studies and practices dance from a cultural perspective while emphasizing technique in her teaching. Training in dance and performing for over 20 years, she has experience in various dance forms but is focused on Hip Hop and House dance. She acknowledges the land she lives and practices on is the land of the Kānaka Maoli and diasporic communities.
