Madelyn Biven performs, teaches, and researches movement-based work. She has taught ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and improvisation in Hawai’i, California, and China. While living in the Bay Area she worked with Project Thrust, RAWdance, Alyce Finwall Dance Theater, and ZiRu Dance. Upon moving home in 2017, Madelyn has been a performer in the Honolulu Biennial; Oahu Fringe (as a guest with electroViolet); Peiling Kao Dances Home Season; Maui Dance Festival; and Contact Hawaii, an annual exhibition exploring the notion of foreign contact as it relates to the Hawaiian Islands. She devised and performed work for Hawaiʻi-based collectives Paradise Cove and Aupuni Space as well. Madelyn graduated with a BFA from Fordham University / The Ailey School in 2009.
